Akpabio, Oshiomhole clash over Fasina’s confirmation as ambassador

There was a clash in the Nigerian Senate between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Adams Oshiomhole over the confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina as a non-career ambassadorial designate amid sexual harassment allegations. Oshiomhole argued that confirming him would be insensitive to women, given pending court cases. Nonetheless, the Senate confirmed Fasina after considering the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
