Al Jazeera investigation challenges Israeli account of Heidi Levine attack

An Al Jazeera Data Journalism Unit investigation, based on the analysis and verification of more than 20 videos and photos, challenges official Israeli accounts of the October 16 attack on Palestinian olive harvesters in Khirbet Abu Falah, near Ramallah. Verified footage and mapped coordinates indicate that masked settlers carried out a coordinated attack and that Israeli military vehicles passed shortly beforehand without intervening. Heidi Levine, a 63-year-old American photojournalist for The Washington Post, suffered a broken rib, four fractured vertebrae and injuries requiring hand surgery, despite wearing a clearly marked press vest.
