Al Taawoun face stadium closure, fine over ‘Jota’ chants by fans

Saudi Pro League side Al Taawoun has been ordered to play their next two home matches behind closed doors and fined 100,000 riyals ($26,640) by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation after fans chanted in memory of late Portugal player Diogo Jota during a match against Al Hilal. The chants drew widespread criticism, including from Cristiano Ronaldo, who urged authorities to take strong action against such fan behavior.
