Alex Eala cruises into US Open second round, top seed Zverev survives

Alexandra Eala advanced to the second round of the US Open with a straight-sets victory over Mary Stoiana. Top seed Alexander Zverev also progressed after a tough win against Lorenzo Sonego, finishing 6-4, 3-6, 6-7(7), 7-5, 6-4. Madison Keys and Taylor Fritz also moved on to the second round, while Zverev will face Quentin Halys next.
