The Algerian National People's Army (ANP) announced on June 7, 2026, that 1,204 people were arrested in May as part of the fight against trafficking, in addition to 227 drug traffickers and 1,580 irregular migrants. Seizures include 137,988 liters of fuel, 526 pumps, 789 generators, 3,503,986 psychotropic pills, 85.30 kg of cocaine, and 17.77 quintals of processed kif. Two individuals surrendered in counterterrorism operations, two weapons were recovered, and 27 suspected logistic supporters of armed groups were arrested.
