Algeria: Iranian President Stops in Algiers Before Heading to the USA

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian made a technical stop in Algiers before heading to the United States to participate in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Algerian Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud and Secretary of State Sofiane Chaib. This stop does not correspond to an official visit, and no political meeting agenda has been announced. This visit comes two years after Ebrahim Raïssi's official visit to Algeria.
