Algeria: the Pope honors the memory of the martyrs of independence

Pope Léon XIV arrived in Algeria for his first visit to the country of Saint Augustine. He visited the monument dedicated to the martyrs of Algeria's struggle for independence, achieved in 1962, and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit. The Pope also called for world peace, emphasizing that peace should be an expression of justice and dignity.
