Algeria: Yacine Adli Rumor Denied

Insider Samir Kaabouche says Yacine Adli is neither in Algeria coach Brahim Hemdani’s plans nor on his expanded squad list for the November gathering. The Algerian Football Federation reportedly has not contacted the midfielder or started any process to change his sporting nationality, despite his apology. Journalist Khaled Mazouzi, however, says Adli was included among the 55 provisional picks after changing his sporting nationality, although his chances of joining Algeria against Togo on November 14 and 17 are reportedly close to zero. The conflicting reports have fueled speculation that the federation and coaching staff tested the waters before backing away amid public hostility.
