Aliko Dangote: "Africa will be largely self-sufficient in fuels by 2030"

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote believes that most African countries will be able to meet their refined fuel needs by 2030. He will lay the foundation stone for a new $16 billion refinery in Lamu, Kenya, with a capacity of 700,000 barrels per day, to be built in about 30 months. Dangote emphasizes the need for Africa to process raw materials locally to reduce reliance on fuel imports.
