Alios Finance Cameroon issued CFA 10.84 billion in new loans in the first half of 2026, accounting for about 51% of the total granted by Cameroonian financial institutions. The company, operated by the Société camerounaise de crédit automobile (SOCCA), led the Société camerounaise d’équipement (SCE), which issued CFA 5.06 billion, and Crédit foncier du Cameroun, with CFA 3.54 billion. Despite its leading position, Alios’s new lending fell 22.1% year on year, less than the market’s 29.7% decline, as total new loans dropped from CFA 30.21 billion to CFA 21.24 billion. The figures were calculated from quarterly data published by the BEAC, whose second-quarter report was released on October 22.

Training covers riding, road safety, financial literacy, digital skills and entrepreneurship, alongside access to financing and ride-hailing, delivery and logistics platforms. Women make up just 4% of transport workers in Rwanda, although a 2025 survey in Kigali found that 47.7% of women surveyed would consider becoming motorcycle taxi drivers.
