Alioune Tine mourns the death of his brother, Imam Papa Malick Tine

Alioune Tine, founder of Afrikajom Center, announced on Wednesday the death of his elder brother, Papa Malick Tine, the chief imam of the mosque in Pikine. In a tribute on X, he described him as his spiritual guide and a family role model, saying their father had chosen him to become a Serigne. Papa Malick Tine studied the Quran in Marsassoum with the marabout Mbal Fodé Gassama and later trained with Cherif Hamdi Moustapha Aidara in Ziguinchor. Alioune Tine thanked Pikine residents, imams and young people for their support at the funeral.
