Alleged defamation: Appeal Court affirms ruling on Princess Udoito's bail rejection

The Court of Appeal in Calabar affirmed the refusal of bail for Facebook user Princess God'sown Udoito, who is standing trial for alleged defamatory publications against Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno. The High Court in Uyo had denied bail citing the gravity of the offenses, flight risk, and threat to public order. The appellate court dismissed Udoito's appeal, upholding the lower court's decision. The unanimous ruling was delivered by Justice Mohammed Ambi-Usi Danjuma.
