Already convicted, Ndeya Beauté remains in custody over a new complaint

Businesswoman Ndèye Fatou Diatta, known as Ndeya Beauté, was placed in pretrial detention after appearing before Dakar’s flagrante delicto court over a new alleged breach of trust involving 4,370,425 CFA francs. The money was allegedly misappropriated from Coumba Faye; Diatta had been referred to the Dakar prosecutor’s office on Thursday by the research brigade. On May 6, 2026, she was sentenced to six months in prison and a one-million-CFA-franc fine for diverting 27 million CFA francs from an online savings group. The new case comes as she was nearing the end of her sentence.
