Amendment 5 to the Sino-Congolese Agreement: RDC Could Have Earned $1.4 Billion Between 2024 and 2026, Says CNPAV

Between 2024 and 2026, the RDC could have earned over 1.4 billion USD if the negotiations on Amendment 5 of the Sino-Congolese agreement had been better handled, according to CNPAV. Spokesperson Jean-Claude Mputu states that the RDC should have received 1.4 billion USD instead of 972 million. The report criticizes the fixed annual infrastructure funding of 324 million USD, which does not increase with rising copper prices, resulting in an estimated loss of over 400 million USD for the government.
