‘Americans want unity, not division’ – Obama reacts to Democrats’ midterm victory

Barack Obama praised the Democratic Party’s sweeping midterm victory, saying voters want politics that brings people together and leaders who offer practical solutions. In a statement posted on X Wednesday, he congratulated winning candidates across the country, including those elected in districts once considered difficult for Democrats, and thanked election officials and volunteers from both parties. He urged Democrats to use their new legislative influence to make changes, prevent further damage and prepare for the future while Donald Trump’s administration remains in office for two more years. The victory is expected to strengthen Democrats’ role in congressional investigations, spending negotiations and oversight of the Trump administration.
