Amnesty condemns arrest, detention of five men over ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-shirts

Amnesty International has condemned the arrest and detention of five men in Maiduguri, Borno State, over their alleged involvement in wearing T-shirts bearing the inscription, “Tinubu Must Go.” The five men—Baba Aji Gremami, Mustapha Abba Yemen, Abacha Mohammed Ali, Adam Umar Gubio, and Abdulhamid Mohammed—were arrested and charged with conspiracy, inciting disturbance of public peace, and thuggery after printing and wearing the T-shirts. Amnesty described their detention as arbitrary and criticized the criminalization of political expression through clothing, calling for their immediate release.
