Amnesty raises alarm over alleged deaths of 150 Fulani detainees in Kwara Camp

Amnesty International has called on Nigerian authorities to investigate the reported deaths of at least 150 members of the Fulani community detained at a military-controlled facility in Kwara State. The victims, many of whom are children, were among about 1,500 Fulani pastoralists held at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp in Yikpata. Conditions at the facility are reported to be overcrowded and unsanitary, leading to cases of malnutrition and disease, with testimonies citing deaths due to starvation and inadequate medical care.
