An outbreak on a cruise ship leaves two dead in the Atlantic

An outbreak of 'severe acute respiratory illness' aboard the cruise ship MV Hondius has resulted in two deaths. A third person is currently in intensive care in Johannesburg and has tested positive for hantavirus. This virus, transmitted by rodents, can cause hemorrhagic fever. The South African Ministry of Health has informed the WHO about the situation.
