Analysis of Statements Made by DRC and Rwanda at the Security Council

Rwanda acknowledged efforts for peace in eastern DRC but stated that FDLR remains active in North Kivu, including Rutshuru, Masisi, Nyrangongo, and Walikale. DRC responded that disarmament of FDLR is underway and that Rwandan armed forces' presence in DRC is no longer justified. The head of MONUSCO also praised diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis in eastern DRC.
