Anglican Church warns Tinubu and INEC against manipulating 2027 elections

Samuel C. Ezeofor, a bishop in the Anglican Church’s Province of the Niger, warned Nigeria’s Presidency, INEC and ruling APC not to manipulate the 2027 general elections. Speaking at the 2026 Anglican Prayer Rally in Anambra State, he condemned alleged intimidation of opposition parties and the risk of a one-party system, urging voters to hold leaders accountable at the ballot box. He cautioned that taking Nigerians for granted could lead to revolution and called on election officials and political stakeholders to respect voters’ choices. Ezeofor also urged church members discouraged by internal challenges to remain steadfast in their faith.
