Approximately 30 women undergo free obstetric fistula surgery in Kimpese (Kongo-Central)

Approximately 30 women suffering from obstetric and traumatic fistulas received free surgical treatment at Kimpese General Reference Hospital in Kongo-Central province from October 1 to 10, 2026. Initiated by the Fistula Foundation, this humanitarian medical campaign aims to restore the dignity of the patients and improve maternal health, especially for those affected by prolonged difficult deliveries or sexual violence. The women will stay hospitalized for 14 days for close medical follow-up to ensure proper healing and prevent recurrences.
