Armed men believed to be members of the ISIL-linked Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) attacked Cantine in North Kivu, killing at least 33 people and setting more than 50 houses on fire. They also burned a health post, forcing patients to flee amid a severe Ebola outbreak in the region. Christian Kakule, medical director of the Kelekele Hospital Centre, said 180 patients fled, including people suspected of having Ebola and one confirmed case; high-risk contacts also left. Health officials fear that people with probable cases now outside medical care could spread the virus.
