Army operationalises 28 Armoured Brigade, two formations in Kebbi

The Nigerian Army has activated the 28th Armoured Brigade and Garrison in Birnin Kebbi, along with the 281 Tank Battalion in Yauri and the 381 Artillery Regiment in Kaoje, Kebbi State. The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, represented by Maj. Gen. Bemgba Paul Koughna, stated that these formations aim to strengthen operational capacity, expand presence, and improve response to security threats in the North-West. Koughna also tasked Col. Abdullahi Umar with ensuring effective fire-support capabilities and urged cooperation with local communities to maintain peace.
