Army rescues retired General’s wife, arrests two kidnappers in Abuja

The Nigerian Army rescued Mrs. Adonkie, wife of retired General Basil Adonkie, who was abducted from her home in Abuja on September 1, 2026. Two suspected members of the kidnapping syndicate were arrested, and an AK-47 rifle along with ammunition was recovered. Troops launched a coordinated pursuit operation, locating the victim in Angwan Sabo Village after the kidnappers fled. The Army intensified follow-up operations to apprehend other members of the syndicate.
