Army trains 925 Borno forest guards for counter-terrorism operations

The Nigerian Army has trained 925 forest guards from Borno State in basic military skills to support troops fighting terrorism. The trainees underwent a two-week acclimatization program at the North-East Theatre Training School in Buni Yadi, Yobe. Theatre Commander Major General Ibikunle Ajose emphasized that the training aims to prepare the guards to operate alongside military personnel without turning them into full soldiers.
