Army troops intercept truck loaded with illicit drugs along Lagos–Calabar coastal road

Troops of the 65 Battalion intercepted a truck carrying a large consignment of illicit drugs along the Lagos–Calabar coastal road on 9 July 2026. The driver was arrested, and the drugs were destined for the Berger general area of Lagos. The suspect and the drugs were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for investigation and prosecution. Major General Adebayo Babalola, GOC 81 Division, commended the troops for their vigilance.
