Félix Tshisekedi rejected accusations of repressing the opposition following the arrest of Prince Epenge, president of ADDCongo and spokesperson for the Lamuka platform. Speaking to the Congolese diaspora in Russia on October 30, in a video published by the presidency on November 1, he said the arrest was linked to the alleged spread of false information about the death of Manassé Lomboto. Tshisekedi said Lomboto had died from an illness, not from violence during the September 15 demonstration. He added that Epenge had been arrested to provide explanations before leaving for Europe.
