Arrival of 470 Congolese refugees in Uvira from Burundi

A first convoy of 470 Congolese refugees from the Ruhigi site in Burundi arrived on April 23 in Uvira, South Kivu province. These voluntary returnees were welcomed at the Kavimvira transit site, where each household received a three-month food ration. The UNHCR announced that a second group of about 1,000 people is expected on April 30 as part of the voluntary repatriation program.
