As the Dry Season Nears, Commuters Urge Repairs to the Ugbolu-Illah-Ebu Road

Commuters using the federal Ugbolu-Illah-Ebu road in Delta State are urging the state and federal governments to repair it as the dry season approaches. Persistent rains have worsened potholes and flooding, making the route between Ebu, Illah and Ugbolu difficult and sometimes impassable. Illah resident Andrew Olanye says the road is disrupting transport of farm produce such as yams and cassava, while Ugbolu resident Uchenna reports a sharp decline in commercial activity and trucks diverting to other routes. Drivers also say they can be stranded for days.
