Asian Games 2026: Taiwan’s gender-row boxer Lin Yu-ting wins gold medal

Lin Yu-ting, Taiwanese Olympic boxing champion involved in a gender controversy at Paris 2024, won gold at the Asian Games. She defeated China's Yang Chengyu 5-0 in the women’s 60kg final in Nishio, Japan, after previously winning in the 57kg category in Hangzhou. The 30-year-old used her reach advantage to control the bout and celebrated quietly. She had considered retiring after Paris but chose to continue fighting to challenge questions about her eligibility.
