Asian Games athletes forced to evacuate amid record rainfall in Japan

Hundreds of Asian Games athletes in Nagoya were briefly evacuated due to record rainfall, with 104mm of rain falling in one hour. The evacuation order affected athletes staying in wooden containers at Garden Pier, but they were able to return after two hours. Mayor Ichiro Hirosawa stated that the conditions of the competition venues were acceptable and that the Games could proceed as planned.
