ASUU declares indefinite strike in UNIPORT

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) chapter of ASUU has declared an indefinite strike due to the alleged failure of the federal government to implement the agreement signed in December 2025. Branch chairperson Professor Omeh Obasi Ngwoke stated that union members are living in abject poverty, with some having lost their lives due to unpaid salaries. The union vowed not to call off the strike until UNIPORT meets its demands.
