ASUU-NDU suspends strike after Bayelsa deal, seeks better funding

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Niger Delta University (NDU) branch, has suspended its indefinite strike following an agreement with the Bayelsa State Government regarding the implementation of outstanding allowances. The agreement includes the payment of the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA) and Professional Allowance starting from October 2026, as well as the settlement of nine months' arrears and 19 months' wage award arrears beginning in January 2027. No ASUU member will be victimized for participating in the strike.
