ASUU suspends strike at Abia varsity, gives management deadline to recall professor

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) suspended its strike at Abia State University, directing all academic staff to resume duties. This decision was made during a congress meeting on August 28, 2026. ASUU expressed concerns over the continued suspension of Professor of Economics Nnamdi Nwaeze, giving the management until September 4, 2026, to recall him.
