ASUU urges Uzodimma to intervene in IMSU strike

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Owerri Zone has called on Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma to convene a meeting with the management of Imo State University (IMSU) and union leaders regarding the ongoing strike by lecturers, which has lasted for 37 days. The lecturers are demanding the implementation of the 2025 FGN-ASUU Agreement, which took effect in January 2026. ASUU also reported a decline in academic staff at IMSU from over 1,000 to about 500 due to various factors.
