At least 19 dead after major earthquake strikes southern Philippines

A magnitude-7.8 earthquake struck off Mindanao on Monday, killing at least 19 and injuring 134. Tsunami warnings were issued and later canceled. Buildings collapsed, including a Jollibee restaurant. President Marcos suspended classes in affected areas.
