At least 67 cases of GBV monitored in Biena and Manguredjipa over 4 months

Between December 2025 and March 2026, approximately 67 cases of gender-based violence (GBV) were reported in the health zones of Biena and Manguredjipa, Lubero territory, according to the NGO Women Lawyers for the Rights of Women and Children. These cases include rapes, forced marriages, sexual harassment, and physical assaults. Gerlas Mumbere Kayitsupa, head of the NGO, urged victims to report their abusers and recommended that authorities combat impunity.
