At the UN, Judith Suminwap proposes a global framework for transparent mining governance and responsible value chains

RDC Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka spoke at the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, outlining efforts to modernize mining governance through transparency, traceability, and anti-fraud measures. She emphasized ongoing reforms to formalize artisanal mining and improve sector management. Suminwa also highlighted the fight against child labor in mines, working with the ILO, UNICEF, and other partners to identify, monitor, and eliminate child exploitation, stressing that this is a moral and national obligation involving all stakeholders.
