Atiku pledges review of NELFUND, debt forgiveness for eligible students

The African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, pledged to review the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and provide debt forgiveness for eligible students. His Senior Special Assistant, Phrank Shaibu, stated that Atiku believes the current education financing approach places unnecessary financial pressure on students and families. Shaibu criticized the federal government for presenting NELFUND as evidence of more affordable education, arguing that tuition costs had risen before the loan scheme was introduced.
