Auditor General Dismisses Ksh1.5 Million Extortion Claims by School Principals

The Office of the Auditor General has denied allegations that some of its officers demanded between Ksh400,000 and Ksh1.5 million from school principals for favorable audits. Nancy Gathungu, the Auditor General, stated her office takes these claims seriously and urged anyone with evidence to report it. She also advised school heads to respond to official audit reports instead of deflecting attention from identified issues.
