Australia: Firefighter Attacked by Shark While Surfing

A fifty-year-old firefighter, Mel Ismail, was bitten by a shark on Monday morning at Glenfield Beach in Western Australia. He was transported to Geraldton Hospital in serious but stable condition. This incident marks the third shark attack in the state since May, with two previous attacks resulting in fatalities. Authorities have closed the beach as a precaution and are conducting tests on a damaged surfboard to identify the species of shark involved.
