Australia has raised the minimum salary requirement for Nigerians and other foreign workers seeking employer-sponsored visas to AUD 76,515 (about N72.5 million) for most skilled migration categories. This change, announced by the Department of Home Affairs, will apply to visa applications lodged between July 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026. Employers will need to demonstrate that salaries offered to foreign workers meet the new thresholds and prevailing market rates to ensure fair competition between local and migrant workers.
