Australia’s deaths to outnumber births by 2060s, report says

According to Australia's latest Intergenerational Report, the country will see more deaths than births by the 2060s. The population is projected to reach 39.3 million by 2065-66, with an average growth rate of 0.9% per year. The report also forecasts that the number of Australians aged 85 or older will triple, while the fertility rate falls to 1.34.
