Following intense storm rains in Dakar and its suburbs, several neighborhoods including Keur Massar, Yoff, Yeumbeul, Mbao, Guédiawaye, and Parcelles Assainies remain affected by flooding. The human toll includes the death of a young woman and her son in their flooded home in Parcelles Assainies. The government announced a 921 billion FCFA plan to combat flooding, and the school reopening scheduled for October 7 was postponed to October 12 to allow for cleanup and repairs.
