Bahrain says it will not participate in Iran’s proposed Hormuz meeting

Bahrain announced it will not participate in a proposed meeting by Iran in Oman to discuss safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz. The Bahraini Foreign Ministry stated that security in the region cannot be preserved through a policy of appeasement and called for an open Hormuz without discrimination. Bahrain maintains its commitment to dialogue but will not join any collective meeting that includes Iran until diplomatic relations are restored.
