AFCON qualifiers: Super Eagles reveal why Ola Aina didn't play against Guinea-Bissau - Daily Post Nigeria

Super Eagles media officer Promise Efoghe explained Ola Aina's absence in Nigeria's 3-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau, citing fitness concerns and poor pitch conditions. Aina, who rejoined the squad earlier in the month, remained on the bench, with Bright Osayi-Samuel playing right-back and struggling against Guinea-Bissau's captain Mama Baldé. Efoghe noted that Aina's previous injury on a bad pitch during a World Cup qualifier was a key reason for his absence and called for better standards in African football. Nigeria will face Russia in an international friendly on October 6 to recover from the defeat.
