Banana-plantain: Tony Obam aims to raise 150 billion FCFA via BVMAC, but the stock market project remains preparatory

The Cameroon Banana-Plantain Sector (FBPC) aims to raise 150 billion FCFA on the regional financial market to establish a company called « Banana-Plantain S.A. », but the project is still in the consultation phase with BVMAC. On September 10, 2026, in Douala, FBPC president Samuel Tony Obam Bikoué presented the project, which involves 300 million shares at 500 FCFA each, though the exact number of shares varies according to sources. BVMAC states that discussions are still about the future creation of the company, with no stock market listing planned at this stage.
