Banana Sector: PHP accumulates 10.4 billion FCFA in losses over two years with 67% of Cameroon's exports

Plantations du Haut Penja (PHP), the main Cameroonian subsidiary of the Fruitier Company, recorded losses of 10.4 billion FCFA over 2024 and 2025, with their revenue dropping nearly one-third in one year. Their loss in 2025 was 8.80 million euros (about 5.78 billion FCFA), up from 7.04 million euros (4.62 billion FCFA) in 2024. Despite this revenue decline, PHP exported only 1% fewer bananas in 2025 compared to 2024, accounting for 67.3% of Cameroon’s banana exports.
