Bananas: +21.5% over nine months, the leading PHP still needs to turn volumes into profits

Cameroon's banana exports increased by 21.5% over the first nine months of 2026, reaching 194,273 tons compared to 159,952 tons in the same period in 2025. This growth is driven by the subsidiaries of the Fruit Company and CDBM, despite PHP, the country's leading exporter, experiencing two deficit years with a nearly one-third drop in revenue in 2025. In September 2026, exports totaled 29,019 tons, up 27.7% from September 2025.
