Bandits Abduct 18 and Kill Two in Kaduna Community

Suspected bandits killed Irimiya Galadima and Benjamin Danlami and abducted 18 people on Wednesday in Akwando village, in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Reuben Buhari, a former senior special assistant on media to the late Governor Ibrahim Yakowa, confirmed the attack and named those abducted, including members of the Ahmadu, Marcus, Steven, Irimiya, Shagari and Genesis families. Akwando has been attacked before; on April 26, 2026, nine schoolchildren were kidnapped while travelling to school and freed 36 days later. Kaduna police did not answer calls or messages seeking comment on the latest attack.
